ASBC

So, here I am now at the Air and Space Basic Course (ASBC) here at Maxwell AFB. Getting pretty sick of it down here, although, I am starting to get along with people from OTS that I would not have thought that I would be getting along with.

It is nice down here on the weekends because we are now alowed to do really, whatever we want. Which means that Labor Day I am catching a flight with my friend Meghan Bannon (yes, I did use her full name only because she insists on calling me by mine) to Chicago and I am going to visit Kate, Jim, and Lucy. It will be nice to get the heck out of Alabama, even though it is just for a weekend.

Otherwise, things get pretty boring down here. I finish my homework and watch TV. Not really too much to do unless I really want to spend some money. I hang out with some people sometimes, but I don't want to seem to annoying or anything like that, especially since.....well....I won't get into that on a public blog considering how people may bump into this.

I hope all is well with everyone back home and abroad. Keep in touch.

Now that I am an officer....

Now that I am an officer, I have another course down here in Alabama that I have to take. So, I am unlucky and have to stay in Alabama for six more weeks. On the plus side, I am not the only one from OTS that has to do this. So, I don't feel so unfortunate. I will continue to update my blog, even though the primary purpose was to keep things updated throughout OTS. But I will let you all know how I am doing and hopefully I will keep all this going through my navigator training.

It is now Wednesday

So, it is Wednesday of my graduation week. My family will be in town in a few hours and tonight is our formal dinner with all the OTs and their families. I am so excited to see my family. It will be so awesome this weekend. Even Mike Neumann is coming down this weekend for my first salute from an enlisted person. This is going to be so great. I am just so entirely pumped. I will be a 2d Lt on Friday. Sweet.

Zero Months, One Week, Zero Days, Zero Hours, Fifteen Minutes, and 67 Seconds

Ok, so, at the time you are reading this, it will be less than that, but that is how much time I have remaining here at OTS. I want to apoligize for not having this updated sooner or more frequently, but I have been very busy here in the past few weeks. I will try and recount all that I can. I will surely hit the important parts.

Ok, so we have the lower class here and have been training them. Those things have been going well and all our academics went well and we finished them a couple weeks ago. This past week, our class was "deployed" to assist in the defense of some fake former Soviet state against another. It was fun and most importantly, I passed my mission! So, not all I have left is to wait for one week and not screw up bad enough to get kicked out.

In terms of the future, I will most likely be spending the next six weeks down here at Maxwell for another course. After that, I will need to get to Randolph AFB in San Antonio to report for my next station. My Navigator class starts next April, so I should have plenty of time to get some leave in and hopefully make it home to visit with everyone. I plan on having a get-to-gether of some sort when I make it back to MN. I know my parents won't care ;) Well, that is the update for now. If you like, please email me or leave a comment or message.
