Holy Cow! Another one already!?!?

Well, I promised pictures. I have one of my water survival training. And here it is:

Never mind the BCGs (Birth Control Glasses). I just didn't feel like risking loosing my good ones in the pool or ruining them with the chlorinated water.

And thus it starts....

Ok, it's been way too long since I updated the blog, here, but I just didn't have anything new to report. Now that I've started my class, I'm more apt to add new things onto the blog and it "may" be updated more frequently. So, here I go...

We began last Friday at the Clinic getting a flying physical to make sure everything was AOK. It was. So, then on Monday, we had a lot of waiting around to do. So, Monday was a big waste of time. Tuesday, we actually started some briefings and got our books and our flight suits. We don't get to wear the flight suits for another five weeks or so, which is a bummer. The blues that we have to wear now are not the most comfortable of uniform. Wednesday was the day we started some actual learning. We learned about basic survival methods, should we have an emergency during a training flight. We then had a test on that information on Thursday morning and I aced it. It wasn't all that difficult. So, then we continued the learning after the test. The topic is Aerospace Physiology. There are some interesting aspects to it, but it can get quite dull. We have a more difficult test next Wednesday that covers all of the Aerospace Physiology stuff. The today, Friday, we practiced some "crash and dash" methods should we need to depart the airplane. Part of this involved going to the pool, jumping in, and trying to get to the raft while the instructors were spraying us with the hose. It was actually quite fun, but exhaustive.

All in all, this first week of training has gone well. But the more difficult portions are just ahead. I'm sure things will be just fine.

Hope all is well with you guys and I'll try to get some pictures up sometime soon.
